BEEKEEPING BASICS         


This course is designed for individuals interested in starting this fascinating hobby, as well as for seasoned beekeepers looking for more information.  We will learn the latest techniques of beekeeping and how to keep honeybees which are essential to our environment.  Honeybees are the most fascinating and important insect on our planet. When weather cooperates, a healthy hive of honeybees, in Middlesex County can produce 100 lbs of excess honey.

  • Codman Community Farm, 58 Codman Road, Lincoln MA  01773
  • Weekend meeting location tba

Dates/Times (2009):

  • 7 Wednesdays - 6:30-8:00 pm, February 4, 11, 25 & March 4, 11, 18, 25.
  • 1 field meeting, tentatively set for Saturday, April 4th 9:00-11:00 am.  
  • Check Codmanfarm.org for any snow cancellations.

  • Rick Reault, owner of New England Beekeeping Supplies and President of the Middlesex County Beekeeper's Association.
  • Eileen Murray, local bee enthusiast.

  • $90 Non-Members
